DAHLIAS:

I'm so happy. Every Autumn I plant new dahlias for cut flowers in the Summer, because, although they're not my favourite flowers, I absolutely adore them.
Last night in the cool of the evening, I went out & picked an armful & today I have two large bowls gracing my lounge. They make my heart sing each time I look at them. Certain varieties remind me of birds, the way the petals layer upon layer, just like feathers. I even like the orange ones !

In the middle are a row of (recently cut back by Lyn ) peony roses. I'm so much better !!
