Bringing In the Catch
Last night at sunset, Rob the fisherman told me to come back to the fish market in the morning at 9 a.m., because they were going to unload 2 different boats.
The fishing boats typically stay out at sea for 8-9 days. It is something to see the crew loading up the boat for a week+ at sea. Lots of stinky bait, and lots of food. This boat consisted of a captain and 2 mates.
Upon their return, while the captain goes inside the fish market to do whatever captains do...the 2 crew mates empty the iced-down holding compartments. That took almost 2 hours.
The fish were mostly red grouper, which is the picture in the lower left. The top left is an African Pompano, and the fish on the right is a Cobia. The 2 larger fish go about 60 pounds each.
Fun to watch. Very hard work.

P.S. Since I wanted to be out there early, I got up REAL early, and caught the sunrise. WOO-HOO!!
