Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Christchurch
Here is some information and a pre earthquake picture and click on the first bullet point please.
Just home (10.15pm) Today has been huge, up at 5.30am and on the road to Christchurch, then further north to a little township of Woodend. It has been sooooo hot, temperatures in the early thirties - we were all dripping as spent the day inside with no fans..However, survive we did.
Around 6 pm, we drove back into the city to catch up with Father Chris who allowed us access to the sad and sorry state of the once was a stunningly beautiful building. There has been much to do about the future, very much like the Christchurch Anglican Cathedral. Apparently, a decision will be made in June as to whether it will come down or not. I took many images and at some stage will edit and put on Flickr. We enjoyed some tea and cake along with a piano recital before heading home picking up a Subway at Ashburton.
Its almost 11pm, time for bed.
