Sgor Gaoith
Today was forecast to be the best day of the week - which didn't look certain when we woke to sideways snow - but we stuck with our plan and headed to the Feshiebridge Hills.
We met up with Canadian Tim and set off up the long drag up Carn Ban Mor. The tops were completely in the clouds, but around the 800m contour we put our crampons on in earnest for the first time this trip, finally. The nav across the featureless tops was challenging but not difficult - but the mass movement of snow meant we stayed a very healthy distance from the cornices atop the crags above Loch Eanaich. Even in a whiteout it was clear that Sgor Gaoith is an epic place - certainly one to return to.
Returning the way we came to avoid the long walk out on the road we cut the corner of the hill confident our bearing would see us true.
As we dropped out of the cloud we were greeted with this fantastic view of the sun dropping into the hills Monadhliath.
