Winter

When we moved to Zuoz (at an altitude of 1700m) 18 months ago I was worried about living in a climate which boasts 8 months winter. It also boasts 322 days of sunshine.
This statue in the village square depicts the young lads of the village driving out winter with their cattle drover's whips. This is an annual event which takes place in March every year. The young lads can only start practising for this in February so we are already preparing to drive out winter when it has barely arrived! Thankfully it snowed all day but there isn't much to show for it yet.
