Slime mould
Lots of wet logs at the nature reserve are showing the tangerine fruiting bodies of the widespread slime mould Trichia decipiens. These little spheres on short stalks are less than 1mm across so it was a bit of a tester for my new macro lens and hand-held camera. I must make a note of the locations so I can follow the fascinating different stages of this strange (not animal, not plant, not fungus) organism.
