And it's feeling good.........
It's a new day, a new week, a new month, and a new island - well, new to us anyway.
We took a truck to the ferry port on Yao Noi, then the speed boat ferry to Ao Nang. From there we took a taxi to Krabi, where we boarded the ferry heading for Koh Lanta. Off the island of Koh Jum, we rendezvoused with a flotilla of long tailed boats which were meeting travellers heading to Koh Jum. The two largest boats took those people off, along with their luggage, and then we all transferred again onto the boat heading to our respective hosts. After all that, we were still in time for lunch!
What a superb place it is too. It was built, literally by hand, out of the steep forest next to the sea, by a French lady and her Thai husband. They worked for about 4 years before they were ready for their first guests. There are nine bungalows on stilts, a couple of bars, and a beautiful dining area which is open on three sides to the gardens, with fabulous sea views. The bungalows have woven bamboo walls, so are excellent for natural ventilation.
As it's facing west, there are great views of the sunset, so my main picture is of tonight's. The extra I took with my phone as we were transferring mid water from ferry to long tailed boat. That's my camera bag you can see, balanced precariously near the side.
