Day 32 of 366 - Cheylesmore Manor House!
Today's image is of Cheylesmore Manor House. This Grade II* Listed building dates originally from the 13th century. It has the distinction of once being the only Unfortified Royal Palace outside of London. The Manor House and all of the then surrounding grounds of Cheylesmore park once belonged to Queen Isabella (the wife of King Edward II). It was later passed on to her grandson Edward the Black Prince. Over the years the palace was left to ruin due in part to Coventry's lack of Royal support during the English Civil war. The Gatehouse along with two parts of the wings on either side (as seen) are all that survive of the Manor House. The building now forms the Coventry Register Office. The oldest such office in England.
The photo was taken using the App Exposer GL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the picture. I boosted the details of the image along with adding to the warmth and saturation. I then applied some Tonal Contrast to the image. Next I used Distressed FX to add some texture the picture using the Stirred overlay and the Reckoning Texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to apply the Clarify preset along with the Red/Blue process FX. I then added the XL black vignette to the image and the Scratched texture. I then also added the Charcoal frame to the end picture.
