Funeral Memories

A Momentous Family Day today as they gathered from far and wide for my Auntie Viv's funeral.  We've had a very moving and lovely day right down to the youngest Great Grandchildren including identical 3 month old twins, Livia and Lily.  On this collage, you see most of the closest family members.

I  led the memories, thanksgiving and celebration of life in the Chapel of Rest this morning and was proud to be able to do so as the person there who had known my auntie for the longest time. We lit candles, talked about her, read some poems, and the star of the occasion was 7 yr old great grandson, Kory who read a little letter he had written to Nana, and then he read a quite difficult poem about it being time for Nana to go as she had been so poorly.  Not a dry eye anywhere.  Kory is bottom right on the thumbnail, holding his little cousin.

So, Aunty Viv, we love you and will miss you, you'd have enjoyed the party.  RIP.
