Beautiful bench

Spotted this bench outside school today whilst on lunch duty! It features Ebenezer Le Page from the book of the same name by GB Edwards. It is in the style of an autobiography, telling the story of life in Guernsey from the late 19th century until the 1960s. I'm sure there's a reason it's outside school...I shall endeavour to find out.
