My gorgeous Bourbon rose 'Mme Isaac Pereire' keeps playing hostess to large numbers of these shiny black beetles (this was what I was inspecting in the very early hours of yesterday morning, when my attention was drawn to the beautiful Swallow-tail moth which became yesterday's blip). Fortunately, since she is one of my most loved roses, they don't seem to be causing any harm to her. They'd better not ......
