The View From 55 Broadway
After a leisurely morning and lunch, we took a drive into London. After a tube ride into Covent Garden, we met up with Matthew Hicks to join the London Transport Museum Night Photography workshop.
The workshop took us to a number of venues, Westminster Bridge (for a sort of sunset), Somerset House and a bit of the Southbank before we dived onto the Waterloo and City Line to Bank. More photography in the city then including fun with traffic light trails. We also walked down to the north side of the Thames to look over to The Shard.
Then it was back on to the Underground to St. James' Park and into 55 Broadway, the head office of Transport for London, a building not open to the public (and shortly to cease being part of TFL) . We headed up to the 10th floor for a hot drink and then out onto the roof balconies for some unique viewpoints over the city by night. It is always interesting to see how the landmarks arrange themselves differently from different viewpoints and this was no exception. The building itself was also quite beautiful (see Annie's shot in the extras).
It was a fun workshop, well led and a nice small group. It made up for the chilly temperatures, especially in the wind. We finished off the evening with a gourmet burger, doesn't get much better than that!
