TOWERING

Mappleton Water Tower, East Riding of Yorkshire UK

Looking like a huge white ghost, this water tower, built in 1927, is close to the village of Hatfield, near Hornsea.

Originally built to supply water to the area from Hull, it is now unused as there is now a direct mains supply from Hull City. It can be seen from far away and is a real icon in the area. Now part of the Yorkshire Water Family.
