mind the uneven surface

Since I have lived in Heybridge I have walked across this field into the nearby countryside.  Last year the ground was cut into making it uneven to walk on.
This week it has been ploughed, making it impossible.
There are other routes but these channel all the walkers along one narrow path where previously there were escape routes.  
When you have dogs that do not like others, escape routes are good.
Today was not so good.
