Patience Rewarded

The praying mantis nymph from the other day was still rain soaked on the curry this morning. But after a while the rain stopped and the flies came out. There were several of these tiny bristle flies visiting the curry flowers and one ran out of luck.

Note how the mantis holds the prey with the powerful “jaws” of its front legs. The skinny walking extensions are folded back past the elbows.
