Shelved

Had a day working in from a hotel room in Birmingham. I took a break and wandered down the road to the new library. Well newish, it's been open a little while now.
It's quite a spectacular building from the outside and very little and airy inside. I found my way to the top of the building which houses the Shakespeare Memorial Room. This had been set up in the old Victorian library but when that was vacated in the 70s the new library didn't accommodate the collection and it disappeared from public view. Now it's been 'rebuilt' - a wood panelled room with glass bookcases full of Shakespeare! It's quite special tucked away in this very modern building.
