Teasels growing very tall..................
Lashing down again in Edinburgh!
Only made it to the end of my garden path for my Blip today. The Teasels are loving the wet weather and are growing tall and strong. I find them a very interesting plant, they are slightly carnivorous and grow their leaves round their stem in order to create pools of water, which insects then drown in. This provides the plant with lots of nutrients which they can take in through their stem. The dried flower heads were also used years ago to tease out cloth.
You can see my son's old primary school in the background, it's the same age as all the tenements around here 110 years old.
