Great North Children's Hospital

After my Photo Class this morning, I collected Mum and took her for her physio appointment. We walk past the Great North Children's Hospital, which is in the grounds of the RVI, to reach the rehabilitation department. When I started work, we had 2 Paediatric Wards in the hospital. There are 14 wards now. The cladding of  the building is mainly a rather pleasant turquoise colour, but I've chosen to blip the windows in this section and treated them with a Fauvism technique.

The physio was delighted with Mum's progress and was able to encourage her to make a fist with her fingers touching her palm. There is a long way to go yet, but she was a star patient today.

Encouraged by this, we called into Fenwicks and Mum bought a new coat (in the sale).

Tonight we were at the cinema for Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a NT production. The cinema was full and we enjoyed the play. Very thought provoking!

It was all going so well - then the woman next to Mum stuck out her elbow and collided with Mum's precious recovering hand. She was in agony and we came swiftly home to apply an ice pack and administer analgesics. I don't think any serious damage has been done, but the hand is super sensitive.

How quickly a day can change, although most of this one was wonderful.
