Iceland
It's my birthday today and what a great day it's been so far. We had a good flight with no delays and landed in snow, which was the perfect birthday present for me.
After a rather long coach tour around Reykjavik dropping everyone at their hotels we finally arrived at ours which was the last stop. But again we weren't disappointed - our hotel faces the ocean, and I'd requested an ocean view room, which we got on the top floor, so that's another box ticked. Well, I say the top floor, the actual top floor is the Sky Bar with views over Reyjkavik and that's where we're sat now, having pre-dinner drinks. Our room actually faces North with views towards some mountains, so if we're lucky we might get to see the Aurora from our room!
I've obviously not taken many photos today, but I noticed this man with his little boy while we were stopped at a set of traffic lights and quickly took this shot through the window before we drove off.
Anyway, it's happy hour, which in Iceland really is a happy hour as everything is so expensive, so I'll get back to my glass of wine. We've booked dinner for 8pm at a traditional Icelandic restaurant that has been highly recommended and is in one of the oldest houses in Reyjkavik.
Cheers!
