Lac d'argent

I spent a wonderful weekend in the Laurentians, enjoying more of the great North American outdoors: a hike up the Montagne d'argent, including a refreshing swim in the lake there, followed by a kayaking trip down a 12-km stretch of the Rivière Rouge. Beautiful weather all along.

The day ended with a midnight dip in the river and roasting marshmallows on a camp fire in the garden (another first for me: all I know about marshmallows I learnt from the Calvin & Hobbes comics).

The rock in the foreground of the photograph is perfect for taking a dive from: the plunge is about 4 meters, but the lake is deep and there's no danger of hitting rocks.
