Summertime Blues

Now that summer is officially here in the far reaches of the Pacific Northwest, I celebrated by buying this bright bouquet -- in my favorite colors -- at the Sumas River Farm stall at the farmers' market on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, I'd purchased these blue placemats at a garage sale -- but not just any garage sale. Ciao Thyme, where I've taken many cooking classes and enjoyed many imaginative and delicious meals, held a garage sale to raise funds for a new venture -- a cafe! The sale started at 9:00am, and I was there 1o minutes later, and glad of it, as it was already packed with people. You may see a few more of the items I purchased in future blips.
