Holding Out

Name change to signal new place to learn to love...(amando means loving in Portuguese, and Alentejo is the region we are living in - além means beyond and tejo is the Tagus river that comes out at Lisbon, hence it's the region from Lisbon to the Spanish border and down to the Algarve, from which it is separated by a range of hills).

Been feeling pretty rough all day, and have bowed out of a meeting tonight - can't wait to get into a warm bed; how grateful we both are for the electric blanket. Quite warm in the day, but gets very cold and damp in the evening and feels strange for it to be colder inside than outside.

Mike has made himself useful in the garden here, which they are hoping to make into a B&B business - guess we're their first customers... The church in the background is in the centre of town - takes about 15 minutes to walk there.

Felt right to hold out for somewhere with a place where we can sit outside - can't bear the thought of not being able to do that - so said no to all the places we viewed yesterday; and got a viewing tomorrow morning...
