A turnstone

I've often wondered how birds get their names
For example, a Jay, - why not a Gee, or a Vee
Or a Robin - why not a Batman!!!
But a turnstone is obvious. It spends its time on the waterfront turning over small stones looking for food. Such busy little birds.
This one was at the mouth of the Ugie this afternoon.
I had to go up to Peterhead for an eye test.
I think I passed!! No new glasses needed.
I met MrDominie and his wife by chance, so a brief blip chat. Always good to see them
