Guayaquil, Ecuador

We are in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador today.  The port where we are docked exports tons and tons of bananas all over the world.

We took a tour of the city this morning, and visited the artists' quarter, which has beautiful old Spanish colonial houses, all painted in different bright colours.  Here you can visit studios and galleries, and enjoy wandering the 400 year-old cobbled streets.  We also saw other areas of the city, spotted a couple of large green iguanas in the trees, and walked (carefully!) past the most enormous swarm of bees clustering on the roof of an information kiosk near the waterfront!
