The lull

My attention usually drifts when the weather forecast comes on the radio in the morning, even when I try really hard to concentrate on it, but "violent storm force 11" brought me back to it today.  It seems we are due to get it on Friday...

Writing this journal over the past months, I have realised that it seems to be a rambling weather update.  When I moved here from London 25 years ago, I couldn't get over how everyone mentioned the weather every day...now I do the same.  The weather just has such an impact on what sort of day we have :)

Anyway, it was flat calm until early afternoon, and rather pleasant.  These are new shoots appearing on flowering currant bushes.
