Prolonged TORRENTIAL downpour this morning - never seen rain quite like it before. As I drove to work, run-off from the fields and moors turned the roads in to fast-flowing dirty, brown 'rivers', and sections of the A1 were beginning to flood quite badly. Not a pleasant experience!

The rain gradually eased up during the morning and had stopped by lunchtime. Would have needed wellies to take my usual route to the shop - part of the footpath was flooded, as shown in the blip...
