Pillaried!
Some while ago, a never knowingly undersized delivery van managed to topple the stone gate pillar. It's noticeable that when they deliver brie these days, they do so from the street.
Anyway, eventually the insurance process ground all the way round to providing a new one, which arrived today.
The 'interesting' shape of the top meant that it had to be carved entirely by hand! A nice job my Stonemasons of Worcester, and some spectacular driving by the truck/crane driver - especially as he'd driven in before the pillar narrowed the entrance by a couple of feet.
It needs a few days for the cement to 'go off', and then they'll be back to finish off the wall etc.
A nice extra is that the whole sections of the demolished pillar are now reassembled as a feature beside the car park.
