Day 026/16. After excitement, disapointment

A few days ago some workers enthusiastically dug a hole over the road from us. Today a BT Openreach van arrived and BT technical heads were stuck down the hole. Was this to be the rumoured upgrade to fibre and a superfast future? Excitement prevailed...... However after my thinking got the better of me I walked over and chatted to a man with head in the said hole. 'No mate, we are repairing a fault'.
It did take on a bit of a Monty Python nature when he then told be that the 'hole had been dug in the wrong place' by 1 metre and this hole must be filled in and a new one dug. He then packed up his stuff and drove off......
