What a grey day!

Apparently we are on the receiving end of the snowstorm which hit the eastern seaboard of the US over the weekend, except for us it has gathered serious wetness crossing the Atlantic and so we are housebound as high winds rage and rain lashes the windows.  What to blip then?

I am rarely given the responsibility of a grown up plant, for good reason, but Christine gave me this amaryllis for Christmas and it has just begun to sprout, throwing me into a state of apoplexy about its care.  I am going to enjoy watching it develop into maturity so I thought it might make an alternative indoor blip today. 

Opinion please, would you have gone with my choice or this one?
