Sandpiper Sunday

Today's challenges proved a bit too much for me and Mr Murray. While Mr Murray only had to beat a certain Mr Federer at Wimbledon I had to try and blip a Sandpiper chick!

Sat watching the tennis with the window open so I could hear the Sandpipers and make out where they were. After 2 sets of the tennis I went to investigate the Sandpipers and found one of the adults and a couple of chicks at the corner of the garden. Only problem was as soon as the adult saw me a warning call was sounded and all I could see were the chicks scuttling quickly through the grass and into some thick bushes. No chance of a chick blip so it was back to the tennis!

By the start of the 4th set I couldn't stand to watch any more of the tennis and went to look for the chicks again. This time the adult Sandpiper was standing on top of the corner garden gate, shouting out its warning call and just asking to be blipped. Then I spotted a chick at the side of the fence and rushed to get a shot of it before it disappeared into the bushes. Wasn't very successful, although you can probably just recognise this as a Sandpiper chick!

Back once more to the tennis and by this time Mrs B was getting frustrated with the way things were going and fed up listening to the Sandpiper's call. It was time to shut the window and switch off the TV. Who knows, maybe our challenges will be realised at this time next year!
