Mono Monday: Selfie

A true photo of a selfie!  with help from my beautiful daughter.

My sister-in-law is a photographer and last summer we had a discussion of how selfies have become a "thing" (she called it a mode).  She said it has changed how people pose, how people smile for the camera.  I thought at first she was deriding it - but actually she was impressed and challenged by the change.

My daughter has very strong feelings about "selfies".  She says it is a movement that allows us to define ourselves -  that we can define beauty in our own way.  Because of the internet, we have the ability to spread that definition while in the past it was harder for the common person to spread their vision.
