Dagenham Heathway

Pie & mash is the local delicacy - served with a watery green liquor :-/ I just had a pie, don't like potatoes or the green stuff (or the jellied eels which were the only other food choice available!).

Got soaked walking up to the Heathway, it started pouring with rain once we were halfway there, so we just carried on, we were going to get soaked whatever we did. Gary was in heaven with this shop, plus the Caribbean butchers shop with an incredible range of meat and poultry and the fishmongers a bit further down, oh, and the greengrocers... much better food than you can find in the supermarkets. We'll be eating well for the next few days!
