Will you marry me?

This wee book was found in my mum's things as I was clearing out.

It is in my father's handwriting and was written on the day they became engaged-22 February 1941.

Mum's engagement ring cost £19-10-0  and a later page itemises her wedding ring at £3-15-0.

It is very endearing- the lists become longer as the wedding date approaches. My Dad was obviously very well organised!

I find it especially poignant as our dear eldest son proposed to his lovely Dutch girlfriend with the self same ring  at Christmas and so the story continues...
