Quiet morning

It was overcast and perhaps threatening a drop of rain, so it was very quiet at Branston Water Park.

No lively dogs or joggers, so I could take my time and enjoy the tranquillity.

I saw birds on the feeders, but no woodpeckers nor tree creepers.

Cute tufted ducks and other waterfowl were splashing around.

One of the lads who was there fishing for carp, said that he had seen the kingfisher the day before - and told me where so that I can remember and look carefully next time.

There is something to be said for dismal weather - if it means you get the countryside to yourself.
