Sa Bassa Verda

After not going out yesterday, I felt a route march (Kaybe's words) was in order, so off we went to try to find Sa Bassa Verda, a hidden gem of a pond only existing in the Winter months. I say try, because a similar quest last year proved a failure. After much consulting of maps, which don't show it, a signboard which does likewise, and asking local walkers for directions, we did it! It involved a long trek through fields and woodland, and finally a real scramble up a "path" - see 3rd extra pic - but the effort was worth it, despite my feeling now completely wrecked. The dogs loved it, although Minnie, whose eyesight isn't what it was, started following a group of people in the opposite direction, and Buster had a bit of a time rolling in some poo he found. We may have damaged the delicate ecosystem by trying to wash it off in the pond, but needs must, despite the coldness of the water. A good day.
