Now I know what it does!
I got this very pretty and unusual dish for Christmas. It is hand made ceramic art by Iris Wong from Vancouver and, much as I like it, I was a little unsure how to use it.
Last night the friend who gave me it came to dinner. She is a Scot and as she was in Canada for Christmas we had her over to share a Burns' Night supper. So I thought I should make the effort to use it for a table arrangement. It worked quite well though I think I need more practice. You can see it in situ in my extra - where the haggis has just been served! This was after our starter of Scottish smoked salmon and Orkney crab pate.
As usual we finished off with Cranachan for sweet.
She stayed over as we stayed up pretty late and had a few drinks so this afternoon after church I have done very little (had a snooze actually!)
We had a great night and I'm sure I will have a go at using my flower 'pot' again soon.
