Budapest Bounty
Blueberry is back from her travels and very kindly brought back the Rosehip tea I'd asked for (I drank loads when I visited in May, but haven't found any here), PLUS a bottle of Hungarian Champagne - result :), thanks Blueberry!
We had a trip to Ikea today where we both bought some stuff and then helped to carry it up our respective stairs - I won there too, my stuff was much heavier.
This evening I saw "Sherpa" at the Filmhouse, it was a very moving film. It made me wonder at the beauty of the place, the strength of the Sherpa people and the crass insensitivity of some of the westerners. (One in particular I could cheerfully have seen left on a mountain with no guides and no-one to carry his kit).
The saddest and most heartrending thing I've seen on film was the recovery of the body of a Sherpa guide after the avalanche. Dangling on a long line below the helicopter for fear of setting off another slide, and endangering the lives of the rescuers working in the ice field.
