Toots in Solitude

To the Lighthouse

Sometimes you can have expectations that are then surmounted, sometimes other just as good things come along to take their place and sometimes, well sometimes you just get downright disappointed.
I had hoped that I might walk through a door to a world of excitement which rang with colour, texture, form, the sound of scissors cutting through crisp new cloth, pins, patterns, materials to hold and feel, all as an experience of the Paul Smith Fashion Exhibition. Instead I felt like I'd walked into a love affair of Paul with Paul. No sense whatsoever of being excited with the process of finding material, colour and texture for garment or accessory.
I paid money at the door for the wrong show. I made the mistake also of reaching over to to feel the texture of an unfinished bag and was quickly reprimanded by an attendant, my finger and thumb criminals upon a precious item.
