Farnborough 2012 - Breitling Jet Team

My offices are next to Farnborough Airport, and every two years the airshow comes to play.

Although preparations for the show have been taking place for months, this week the aircraft begin to gather, and practise their displays. It is the jets that really make their presence known, with the buildings literally shaking as they scream overhead, and the cars in the car park responding with a cacaphony of beeps and toots as their security alarms trigger.

This week also coincided with our annual office BBQ - a chance to "network" with one's colleagues, scoff burgers in buns, beer and wine, and "hunt the bottle" for charity (I found a bottle of Rose Wine!!).

We were also fortunate to have (for this year) a rare break in the rain and were treated to a practise display be the Breitling Jet Team. I snapped this with my old Canon compact so the quality is not very good, but hopefully it gives you a feel.

Next week is the show proper, so traffic will be appalling and, weather permitting, the noise from the flying displays even more intense.
