Mud!!

It was a beautiful day today with lots of melting going on, leaving lots of mud on the trails.  I put on my wellies and went squishing along but a lot of people were out in tennis shoes, like this mom.  Part of the trail system is paved so I was very surprised when I noticed her behind me with her toddler on the muddy trail.  As I watched them approach, the little one took a tumble and I got a quick shot as Mom was helping her up.  She went down again after this and was really covered in mud but I didn't want to be a pest with the camera because by then she was crying.  I can't imagine what possessed her mother to take her into the mud!
