The Broody Suburb
Today's blip pic is taken from Chorlton Beer Festival (through the railings). Thought it captured beautifully what a family-centric place this suburb of Manchester (Chorlton) is. Just wonderful.
Life here is about bringing your children along, whatever the event or gathering. In fact, I think if we lived here and didn't have (or plan to have) kids, it would become infectious after a while. Its comforting too as clearly having children in Chorlton seems to signal the natural next step in life - rather than the end of life.
Audrey slept a 4 hour (1am until 5am) stint last night. Unfortunately her mother woke up at 3am; thinking something must clearly be wrong and then watched the baby monitor for the next two hours until she woke.
Then after her 5am feed, Audrey (looking refreshed) decided that her day had started and was wide awake. 5am starts. Really? Too far baby girl, too far...
Oh and most importantly no colic incident last night. For the first time since she came home from hospital (pretty much), Audrey's screams were not heard as far away as Birmingham at two in the morning. It was eerily quiet.
Could we be turning a corner? Could the Colief, Infacol, special Colic milk and homeopathic remedy cocktail be kicking in or is it just another fluke?
Today was our official NCT reunion in Didsbury. Was lovely to see all the other parents and their babies. Some right little cuties! What was really inspiring was how alert and happy all their babies were. They are at least four weeks older than Audrey and it was inspiring to hear that things do get better.
Home for the Wimbledon final, strawberries and cream (and some work on the laptop for me sadly).
Now let's see what tonight/tomorrow brings in the unpredictable world of newborn babies....
