Signs (23) - Local hero

I came upon a bit of local history today. If you have time pop across

I've been a bit unkind to Kingston Council about their modern corporate styled street signs but I have to take a fair bit of that back today. Barton Green is five minutes walk round the corner from where I live but if it weren't for the addition of the small Victoria Cross graphic on this sign I would have never given a second thought as to how it came to be so named.
