A Sad End

We came across this birthday balloon 'wedged' in the hedgerow along one of the lanes on our walk this afternoon. I don't remember seeing it last time we were up this way a couple of days ago.

It still seems to have some gas in as it is not completely deflated, although how it arrived in this position without getting punctured is anyone's guess!

I had spent the morning (well a good portion of it anyway) bottling a batch of beer - that should be ready to drink in a 2-3 weeks.

After the walk I made a beef casserole (which hopefully is at least 6 portions) to go in the freezer and also made a lamb jalfrezi for tea. There is also a large pan of veg stock brewing - made from all the recent veg trimmings! I have done a few batches recently and they are great for making soups.
