Bell's Bridge

In town this morning to collect my camera .... purse is now rather empty! To test the camera L and I took a walk along part of the Clyde Walkway to the Riverside Museum passing many of Glasgow's bridges on the way.

Bell's Bridge is a pedestrian bridge spanning the River Clyde. It was built in 1988 to coincide with the Glasgow Garden Festival. It allowed people to cross from the main Garden Festival site to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on the other side of the river. The bridge is named after Bell's and Sons, the whisky company who sponsored the construction. Unfortunately, the bridge was closed to pedestrians during the Commonwealth games.
