Glorious sunrise

This spectacle was fleeting, lasting a few minutes before turning to yellow. Not a good sign according to weather lore, looks like the short cold snap is over and we'll be back to mild, damp weather come the weekend.

The reason for being up (reasonably) early this morning was the monthly trip to London for the Project Board meeting at 10.00am which means catching the 8.12 train from Bearsted and a cycle ride to the station. It wasn't as bad as I expected and the train arrived at Victoria on time.

A reasonably good meeting, which had some positive outcomes but, as is often the case, progress is slow as sometimes people you're waiting on haven't completed one of their actions or are absent or on leave.

I had a brisk walk through London from Victoria after the meeting to the Nespresso shot on Regent's Street; past Buckingham Palace, across Green Park and along Piccadilly cutting through a sideroad to come out on Regent's Street and then back again with 4 packets of coffee pods and a descaler kit. Cheaper than having it all posted.

Spent some of the afternoon booking hotels for next month. We're going to the Lakes for a week in early February, staying overnight on the way up then extending the trip at the end of week with a one night stay at the Inn on the Lake then travelling up to Edinburgh for a 30th birthday party. We probably wouldn't have travelled all the way from Kent for a long weekend but being in the Lakes made it feasible. (I suppose we could have travelled by train come to think about it - or flown)
