Bit Of A Leak

Burst pipe. Goodness knows how long it had been spraying. I didn't hear it until the afternoon. Our water bill will be a bit higher no doubt.
It was a bit if a fiasco trying to find the mains to turn the water off. It's at the front of the drive and had been covered up over time. I was on my hands and knees digging and poking around. I found it and had to pull handfuls of wet, cold dirt out of the hole it's in. The lid has got lost so the meter just filled up. The problem is the meter is about two foot down. I had a fair bit of digging to do. But I did it and turned it off.
I then phoned a friend as you do. Thank goodness for a man who can. He came straight round, cut the pipe and capped it. I think we need to sort out turning water off a bit nearer the house.
