Getting Older but not any Wiser...

So another birthday has rolled around in the blink of an eye!   And not just any birthday, but my last forty-something birthday.   Eek!

After three 6am rises I decided to treat myself to a lie in, however due to being half asleep when I reset the alarm on my phone, I didn't wake up till after 9.30 then took another hour and a half to actually drag myself out of my bed!

The day started well with lots of lovely birthday messages on FB and text messages as well as 5 messages from Gill on What's App with her singing me self penned birthday tributes.   If I tell you that in one of them she was rhyming "birthday year" with "cervical smear" you will get an idea of the pitch :-))))

Lots of lovely pressies from David including some beautiful Jo Malone body cream.  Impossible to escape the fact I'm getting older when after liberally applying to my arms and Décolletage, it was followed up with a blob of ibuprofen gel to my aching elbow joints!  :D

Gorgeous birthday smiles from Alan and he even let me collect all the kisses on his birthday card.   Stepdad John popped in and stayed for lunch then when David got home this evening he cooked a lovely birthday dinner whilst I enjoyed a very sublime G&T (Botanist gin, a birthday gift from a friend.  You know who you are :-)) and ate chocolate gingers (another birthday gift :-)  

Been spoiled rotten with lots of lovely cards and gifts and got lunch out with D to look forward to tomorrow.   


All in all, turning 49 has not been too bad :D
