Moorhen on ice

We had a very hard frost this morning - in fact the frost didn't melt from the grass at the back, where it is in the shade, until mid-afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day, so about midday I got out for a short walk around the lake at Samoreau, much of which was covered in a layer of ice. I came back with quite a few photographs to choose from, but finally went with this shot of a moorhen walking on the ice, with the reeds as a backdrop. We've had about a week of cold frosty mornings, but the temperatures are supposed to warm up a bit for the weekend.
