Telegraph to infinity
This is a phrase from child language acquisition literature. Children tend to acquire one word sentences (mumma, dadda), then two words (up there, me go) and then they don't go three word but can effectively produce sentences of infinite length - the so called telegraph to infinity. It's one of those nicely poetic scientific terms.
