Walking Amongst Dinosaurs Part 2
It was too late to write anything last night but we had THE most incredible day.
After a very early start, we arrived in Northern Skye for low tide. We found the recently discovered dinosaur footprints and then went to a different beach to find these. There's meant to be four but we only found two.
We drove over to the West side, visited the Dun Beag broch and later, on our return to the mainland, spotted a Golden Eagle, which we watched soaring overhead for about 5 minutes.
The journey back went smoothly, until 2 miles from home. As the road narrowed to a one lane carriageway, with passing places, we came to a halt. A very large lorry, carrying components to build a bridge, had come off the road and gone in the ditch. We were going nowhere! A crane had to be brought in to remove the concrete and get the lorry out. Very exciting and luckily nobody was hurt.
We eventually got home and to add to the already full day, I received an Aurora alert, advising that it was more than probable to see activity. That was it! I was out like a shot....for three and a half hours!! It was all over by 11.45pm, which didn't leave me much time to do my Blip.
I took nearly 100 images, most of them dire but at least I saw it. It's been a dream of mine for a very long time, so I am extremely happy.
Thank you so, so much for the terrific amount of stars, hearts and kind comments for my 700th Blip. Not long to go now until the 730th. Yippee
